• Stopped responding after receiving the funds

According to police, celebrities in this category typically do not:

• Have long-term personal conversations with individual fans via social media
• Request money from followers due to financial or banking issues

If someone claiming to be a famous person exhibits these behaviors, it is almost certainly a scam.

How to Protect Yourself

• Verify that messages are coming from an officially verified account before engaging
• Be extremely skeptical of any money transfer requests from accounts claiming to belong to celebrities
• Remember that famous people do not solve banking problems by asking followers for money on social media
• When in doubt, ask a trusted friend or family member for their opinion
