How the Scam Works

This sophisticated scam operates in stages, combining online and offline elements:

Online Recruitment: Fraudsters place fake advertisements on short-video platforms claiming "zero-experience online business opportunities earning thousands monthly"
Trust Building: Long-term livestream "training sessions" are conducted under the guise of "state-supported entrepreneurship programs"
Expansion: Viewers are encouraged to add so-called "teaching assistants" on WeChat
Luring: Victims are told that "critical inside information is only available at in-person offline training"
Exploitation: Once victims are isolated in another city, away from family and local police, fraudsters use psychological pressure to extract thousands to tens of thousands of yuan in fake training and franchise fees
